Al-Azhar University has decreed that vaccination against the deadly Polio disease is a religious and humanitarian duty.

The Institution dismissed the fatwas against Polio vaccination of children saying that prohibiting any vaccine that is beneficial for the children, is un-Islamic.

It urged the people, relief organisations and countries to reach out to the flood affected people of Pakistan.
