FM arrives in Muscat to express condolence on death of Sultan Qaboos

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has arrived Muscat, the capital of Oman. 

He was received by Pakistan Ambassador to Muscat Ahsan K.K. Wagan and other officials of Omani Foreign Ministry at the Airport.

The Foreign Minister will express condolence with the Royal family over the sad demise of Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said. 

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has called on Oman's new ruler Haitham bin Tariq Al Said at Muscat today and expressed condolence on behalf of Pakistan's President Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the people over the death of his predecessor Sultan Qaboos bin Said. 

The Foreign Minister said the government and people of Pakistan are sad over the death of Sultan Qaboos and equally share their grief.

The Foreign Minister said with the death of Sultan Qaboos Oman has lost a popular leader while Pakistan has been deprived of a sincere and trustworthy friend.

He prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.

Sultan Haitham thanked the Foreign Minister for his visit and condolence and assured that the government of Oman will continue making efforts for promotion of peace and stability while following the principles of the deceased Sultan.

Sultan Haitham also reiterated his resolve that bilateral relations between Pakistan and Oman will flourish in days to come.
