Work on Pakistan’s largest nuclear power project underway
January 14, 2025

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says an investment of three billion dollars from China has landed in Pakistan.

Responding to points raised by Leader of the Opposition Syed Shibli Faraz, he said work has begun on the country's largest nuclear power project, reflecting growing confidence of the international community in the government's economic policies.

Regarding the Al-Qadir Trust matter, the Minister said sixty-four billion rupees were hushed up in someone else’s accounts instead of depositing the amount to the national exchequer during the tenure of the PTI Government. He said they will be held accountable for this corruption.

The Planning Minister further said the PTI government had ruined the aviation industry of Pakistan and the national flag carrier had to face a loss of billions of rupees. They maligned pilots of Pakistan International Airlines, which led to a ban on PIA flights to Europe.

Replying to another point, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar asked PTI to adopt a legal course to get relief for their leaders and workers detained in various cases.

The Special Technology Zones Authority (Amendment) Bill 2025 was introduced in the House today.

Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar introduced the bill.

The Chair referred the bill to the standing committee concerned.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said the government is making all out efforts for the restoration of PIA flights to the United Kingdom.

Responding to a calling attention notice moved by Sherry Rehman, he said currently twenty-two PIA planes are operational. He said the privatization process of the national flag carrier will be rolled out again soon.

The House will now meet again tomorrow at 11:30 in the morning.
