Exercise AMAN-23 to pave way to regional peace, security: PM

Five-day multinational maritime exercise AMAN-23 organized by Pakistan Navy concluded in Karachi today [Tuesday].     

Naval forces of more than fifty countries participated in the five-day joint naval exercise with their warships, aircraft, Special Operation Forces and a large number of observers.      

The exercise was aimed at developing an effective joint strategy against pirates, terrorists and smugglers of drugs and arms.      

The Fleet Review at the end of the exercise featured an impressive Fly Past by Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force and participating foreign aircraft which formed the traditional `AMAN Formation' to signify collective resolve 'Together for Peace'.

Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif lauded Pakistan Navy for successfully hosting Exercise AMAN-23 for promoting peace and security in the region.

He thanked the participating regional and extra-regional navies for displaying their commitment to collaborative maritime security and joining hands for peaceful co-existence.

The Prime Minister said the exercise will pave the way to regional peace and security with combined efforts of all stakeholders.        

The Naval Chief vowed that Pakistan Navy will continue to play a dynamic role in enhancing regional maritime security individually and in collaboration with partner navies.

He highlighted that successful conduct of exercise is a manifestation of Pakistan Navy's resolve to promote maritime potential of Pakistan.

On the sidelines of the exhibition around 20 MoUs, 1 Joint Venture and 1 sale/purchase agreement of export of iron ore were also signed.
