BISP, PPAF sign MoU for joint efforts for poverty alleviation

Benazir Income Support Program and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in poverty alleviation efforts and implement Poverty Graduation strategy across Pakistan.

In total, three hundred and twenty thousand households representing over two million individuals will be the beneficiaries of this partnership.

The main intervention will include Social Mobilization and the beneficiaries will be identified by using the tool of Poverty Score Card.

The collaboration between both the institutions ensures mutual cooperation for joint ventures to graduate the poor, especially living in extreme poverty zones of the country.

According to this understanding, the cooperation will include efforts for alleviating poverty on the poverty graduation model which will cost around 130.98 Million dollars for three main components including Asset Creation, Interest Free Credit and Training of Livelihood.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson BISP Marvi Memon said this collaboration will help achieve the SDG indicators against poverty.
