Prime Minister Imran Khan has said Pakistan desires to have strong ties with all countries including the United States.
He was talking to Pakistan's Ambassador-designate to the United States Masood Khan, who called on him in Islamabad on Monday.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan-US relations are based on partnership and shared goals.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed Ambassador Masood Khan to work for further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. He said connectivity of Pakistani diaspora is one of the top most priorities of the Government and the United States is home to a very vibrant Pakistani community which acts as a bridge between the two countries.
Imran Khan also directed the Ambassador-designate to work towards further strengthening Pakistan-US relations particularly for enhancement of trade, investment and public diplomacy. He emphasized on correctly projecting Pakistan's Foreign policy priorities.
Prime Minister Imran Khan wished Ambassador Masood Khan success for his new assignment.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also present during the meeting.
It is pertinent to mention that Ambassador Masood Khan is an experienced diplomat and has previously served as Ambassador of Pakistan to China and Permanent Representative to United Nations. He has also previously served in Washington DC.
