15th death anniversary of renowned religious scholar Dr. Israr Ahmed's was observed on Monday.

He also received Master's degree in Islamic studies from Karachi University in 1965. Later he devoted his life in trying to reawaken interest in Quran-based Islamic philosophy.

The religious scholar was honored with Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 1981 in acknowledgement of his services in religious instruction.

He died on this day in 2010.
