PM thanks expats for sending record remittances

Pakistan received record remittances of 4.1 billion dollars last month, which are the highest ever in a month.

In the first nine months of current fiscal year, the country received 28.1 billion dollars in remittances, reflecting a thirty-three percent increase.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his gratitude to overseas Pakistanis for sending record remittances of 4.1 billion dollars in the month of March.

According to a statement released by the Prime Minister office, the Prime Minister said this is a thirty-seven point four percent (37.4 percent) increase in remittances as compared to March last year.           

Referring to the Overseas Pakistanis convention in Islamabad, he said the record increase in remittances is a testament to the dedication, commitment and confidence of overseas Pakistanis in the country's economy and government's policies.

Describing overseas Pakistanis as a valuable asset of country, the Prime Minister said they work tirelessly abroad not only bringing pride to the nation but also strengthening the country's economy through remittances.

Shehbaz Sharif said the entire nation is proud of overseas Pakistanis and the present government is fully committed to providing them with all the facilities.
