The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that recent Pakistan-India war has once again highlighted Kashmir's unresolved status as a volatile nuclear flashpoint in South Asia.

In a statement in Srinagar today, APHC Vice Chairman Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar said that lasting peace in South Asia is impossible without settlement of Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions.

He said the ceasefire between the two countries is welcome, but cautioned that India’s continued jingoism and warmongering threaten millions across the region.

He reiterated that Kashmir is not a territorial dispute, but a question of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, as recognized by UN Security Council resolutions.

Meanwhile, the occupied territory continues to reel under fear, as Indian troops are continuing widespread house raids and search operations.

Dozens of homes have been stormed in Srinagar and other areas, with troops vandalizing property, confiscating personal belongings, and arresting youth under draconian laws like the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
