The Punjab Government has established five mobile air quality monitoring stations in Lahore to track the city's air quality index.

In an interview with Radio Pakistan Lahore’s Correspondent Ghulam Haider, an official from the Environment Protection Department of Punjab, Farooq Alam, said that these stations have been strategically placed in highly polluted areas, including DHA, Model Town, Gulberg, Bhatta Chowk, and near Radio Pakistan at Shimla Pahari.

He said that the mobile stations are equipped with advanced technology designed to collect real-time air quality data.

The official said each mobile monitoring station costs over ninety million rupees.

Farooq Alam also highlighted that the stations continuously monitor various gas parameters, including nitrogen oxide levels, to assess and report the average air quality on an ongoing basis.
