Three United Nations agencies have asked Israel to allow access to the port of Ashdod, north of Gaza, for urgent delivery of humanitarian aid.     

In a joint statement, World Food Programme, UNICEF and the World Health Organisation said use of Ashdod port is critically needed by aid agencies.                                           

The war in Gaza has entered 100th day sparking a humanitarian catastrophe for Gaza's 2.4 million people, who are struggling to get food, water, fuel and medical care.
