The senior most Controller News of Radio Pakistan Muhammad Tariq Chaudhry, who has been heading News and Current Affairs Channel and Social Media, assumed the charge of new Director News of the organization today (Monday).
The new Director News, who is a seasoned journalist, brings with him a rich experience in all the vital fields of the broadcast journalism.
After assuming the charge of Director News, Muhammad Tariq Chaudhry called on Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Ms. Ambreen Jan and discussed the professional matters. He shared his plan of action with the worthy Director General to improve performance of the News Wing, Current Affairs Department and the Social Media section. The Director General extended her full support to the new Director News in materialization of his strategies to enhance quality of the content, upgrade the existing technical facilities, and make the working environment more conducive for the news staff.
The Director News visited different sections of the Central News Organization including National News Room, Reporting Section and Monitoring Unit. He also took a round of News and Current Affairs Channel as well as Social Media section.
During his interaction with the heads of the Units and staff, Mr. Tariq Chaudhry expressed his resolve to put his best efforts to revive the past glory of the CNO. He assured his full support and guidance to the staff members in creating the best content for keeping masses abreast of the latest national and international developments.
Prior to ascending to this top most position in News Wing of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Mr. Tariq Chaudhry has headed various units of the organization, including Reporting, National News Room, National Urdu Desk, Regional Languages Section, International Relations Department and the Pakistan Broadcasting Academy. He also has honor of having served as Controller (Coordination) in the Central News Organization.
During his career in Radio Pakistan, Mr. Tariq Chaudhry headed Faisalabad News Bureau and also served as senior News Editor at Lahore News Bureau.
Muhammad Tariq Chaudhry has won several awards, shields, appreciation letters and a gold medal in recognition of his professional achievements.
