NATO allies Turkey and Germany have appealed for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine to open humanitarian corridors for civilian evacuations.

Addressing a joint news conference after meeting with Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan at Ankara, German Chancellor Olaf Scholzs said we are in agreement on the issue of reaching a ceasefire at the earliest.

Speaking on the occasion, Erdogan said we will continue our relentless efforts for a long-lasting ceasefire.
