Turkey is battling disaster on two fronts as eight people were killed when a Russian water-dropping plane crashed near Adana city during a firefighting mission.

The plane with five Russians and three Turkish rescuers on board was on mission to find survivors of flash floods in the north that have killed at least 55.

The air tragedy came just as Turkey is gaining control of hundreds of wildfires that killed eight people and destroyed swathes of forest along the scenic southern coast.

The Government and people of Pakistan have extended their heartfelt condolences to the Government and brotherly people of Turkey on the loss of precious lives and material damage as a result of disastrous floods and mudslides.
