Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani has expressed confidence that the fixed tax scheme introduced for small shopkeepers and retailers will remain successful.

Talking to media persons in Islamabad today, he termed the scheme a practical initiative, saying it would not only broaden the tax base but has also addressed the concerns of shopkeepers.

The Minister of State said an awareness campaign has been launched to encourage greater registration under the scheme. He said the FBR officials would visit markets and bazaars and engage directly with shopkeepers to facilitate their registration.
