Expert says Prime Minister’s visit will give momentum to China Pakistan Economic Corridor
October 15, 2023

Dr. Zafar Hussain (Journalist in China): The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) represents a comprehensive initiative that extends beyond mere connectivity. Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar is scheduled to hold discussions with senior Chinese leadership and participate in the Belt and Road Forum. Additionally, he will deliver a significant speech during one of the forums convened under this initiative. CPEC serves as a flagship project within the broader Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and this year marks its tenth anniversary, with new projects anticipated to be agreed upon during the visit. The enduring and robust friendship and relations between Pakistan and China transcend changes in governments and will persist unchanged. The initial phase of CPEC focused on investments in infrastructure and energy, while the second phase centered on the relocation of Chinese industries to Pakistani Special Economic Zones. Notably, the progress on projects in Dhabeji and Rashakai is nearly complete. China has also announced a multitude of scholarships designed to train Pakistani talent in various fields, highlighting the deep and cooperative ties between the two nations.
