The Punjab government has declared a health emergency in Lahore and Multan in the wake of intensive smog conditions.

Addressing a news conference in Lahore on Friday, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said schools in both divisions will remain closed till next Friday.

The Minister also announced that a complete ban had been imposed on all types of construction in Lahore and Multan till 24th of this month.
