The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) is taking multiple initiatives to eradicate the use of narcotics from the country.
Addressing the media in Rawalpindi on Thursday, ANF Senior Director Syed Sijjeel Haider said that the purpose of these activities is to ensure the safety of youth from the curse of drugs.
He said that ANF launched a nationwide campaign in September last year with a commitment to make educational institutions across the country drug-free.
Syed Sijjeel Haider told media that ANF has seized over 177 metric tons of drugs during operations in different parts of country since last year.
The price of these confiscated drugs is ten billion US dollars in international market.
He said over twenty two hundred drug-peddlers have been apprehended during this period.
He appreciated the role of all segments of society including Media, educational institutions, students, Higher Education commission and civil society in cooperating with ANF in this regard.
