Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has emphasized the need for greater cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye at all levels, including fostering people-to-people contacts.
Inaugurating the newly-constructed Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Museum at Radio Pakistan Headquarters in Islamabad, he said Pakistan-Turkiye friendship is deeply rooted in history. He said this bond transcends borders and boundaries, reflecting a heart-to-heart connection between the peoples of Pakistan and Turkiye.
The Information Minister pointed out that Turkiye is one of the few countries where the people of Pakistan feel a sense of warmth and affection during their visits. He emphasized that the two countries must move forward together for a prosperous future.
Attaullah Tarar mentioned that while Turkiye is engaged in development projects in Pakistan, its focus on preserving history through Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Museum serves the specific purpose of showcasing the role played by Radio Pakistan in various fields for future generations.
The Information Minister highly praised Radio Pakistan's role in nation-building, boosting the morale of the nation and armed forces during wars, promoting arts and culture, and improving the economy and agriculture. He noted that the national broadcaster has always remained an effective mode of communication during natural calamities.
Expressing satisfaction over the launch of podcast by Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister asked the management of Radio Pakistan to come up with a proposal for further modernizing the national broadcaster.
He emphasized that Radio Pakistan should effectively establish its presence in the digital space in the coming years, highlighting the importance of attracting subscribers to its digital platforms, as people once tuned to Radio Pakistan regularly in the past. He said this organization belongs to us and its welfare is our responsibility.
In his remarks on the occasion, Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu highlighted the strong relationship between the two countries, emphasizing that both Pakistan and Turkiye will continue to work together in different fields.
