Oxford University scientists on Tuesday said they will study effects of new COVID-19 variants such as Omicron and vaccines on women during pregnancy and childbirth.

Co-lead author of the study, José Villar said the effects of COVID-19 in pregnancy have been insufficiently studied.

Study will evaluate nearly 1,500 women infected at any stage of pregnancy with 3,000 non-infected women over four months.
