Adviser on Finance Miftah Ismail has said Pakistan has achieved major successes on economic front over the last five years.
Addressing a round table conference titled" Pakistan Paradise for Investment" in Islamabad on Monday, he said the economy grew by five point four percent last year.
He said inflation rate has also been brought down from eleven point three per cent to five per cent.
Miftah Ismail said with improved security situation, the country provides an enabling environment to the investors in different sectors of the economy.
Miftah Ismail said the country has huge potential in natural resources including oil, gas and other minerals. Similarly, we are one of the biggest producers of agriculture products such as wheat and rice.
Addressing the conference, National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua said Pakistan is the biggest investor of peace in the world.
Terming Pakistan the land of opportunities, Nasser Janjua said the country is not only paradise for investment but also for many other fields.
He said Pakistan needs to rise beyond China Pakistan Economic Corridor and become a massive trade corridor.
He said Pakistan has huge economic potential, connectivity, cooperation and competition and it provides the economic environment of collaboration.
NSA said Asian region, with its rich human and material resources, is the center of connectivity for the entire world.
Chairman Board of Investment Naeem Zamindar said Pakistan compares favorably to most South Asian countries in terms of times and costs required to start a business.
He said with the passage of time, foreign investment has become easier and less costly in recent years and the continuous efforts of the government are yielding fruitful results.
Addressing the occasion, China's Ambassador Yao Jing said Pakistan is following policies of deregulation, liberalization and privatization and it has initiated a number of structural reforms to spur economic growth.
Turkish Ambassador Ehsan Mustafa said Pakistan has rendered matchless sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He said the economic indicators of the country are progressing and there are big investments in the pipeline.
He said with great human potential and prudent economic policies, Pakistan is on the way to achieve economic goals.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan Ali Alizada said Pakistan and Azerbaijan are longstanding partners and strategic allies. He said both the countries have signed agreements in different sectors including energy.
