Sikh community lauds PM Imran for announcing to open Kartarpur corridor

Representatives of the Sikh community have described Pakistan's initiative of opening Kartarpur corridor as a gift to Sikhs on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, being observed in November this year.

Speaking in a program of Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel, they appreciated and thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for announcing to open Kartarpur corridor.

Chairman Pakistan Barbandhak Committee Sardar Tara Singh said Prime Minister Imran Khan has won hearts of the Sikh community by taking various facilitating steps, including opening of Kartarpur corridor, for the Sikh community.

Parliamentary Secretary Punjab Sardar Mahinder Pal Singh regretted that India is using delaying tactics regarding opening of Kartarpur corridor.

Sardar Mehrban Singh Sergeri, a resident of London, said progress and prosperity can only be attained in a peaceful environment. He said the Indian government's attitude towards minorities in the country is not appropriate.

Sardar Mahinder Singh from India said Kartarpur corridor will help improve relations between the countries, bringing peoples of the two countries closer.

Renu Kaur from Jammu told Radio Pakistan that Sikhs are thankful to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Indian cricketer-cum-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu for their efforts to open opening Kartarpur corridor, which will allow Sikh Yatrees in India to visit Gurdawara in Kartarpur without visa.
