Govt committed to empower youth: Shaza

Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja has said Pakistan is embarking upon a journey of national digital transformation. 

Addressing 'Leaders in Islamabad Business Summit' on Wednesday, she said Pakistan's huge youth bulge is an asset and the government is committed to empower them.

The Minister for Information Technology highlighted that the youth will be trained in low, medium, and high-tech courses to ensure they acquire employable skills. She said the power of technology will be leveraged to expand access to skill development for a larger number of people.

Shaza Fatima said Pakistan is hosting a two-day Digital Foreign Direct Investment Summit this month in partnership with Digital Corporation Organization of Saudi Arabia. She said this summit is expected to be attended by over three hundred international participants.

The Minister for Information Technology mentioned that Islamabad IT Park is expected to be inaugurated on the 14th August this year. He said we are also in the process of finalizing a proposal for an IT park in South Punjab.

Addressing a separate event in Islamabad, Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the government is focusing on digital literacy. She said we plan to establish two hundred and fifty e-rozgaar centers across the country this year.
