May 16, 2023

Government has announced a three day protest campaign from May 21 against the proposed holding of G-20 summit in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

This was announced by Adviser to Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira while addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday.

He said India wants to hold one of the events of the G-20 summit in Srinagar which is part of the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He said India's purpose of doing this is to hoodwink the world and divert attention from its atrocities in the illegally occupied territory.

The Adviser said Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will visit Azad Jammu and Kashmir from May 21st to 23rd where he will meet Kashmiri representatives, address different fora, express solidarity with the Kashmiri people and highlight Pakistan's stance and efforts regarding the issue.

He said Pakistan Peoples Party will also organize a public gathering in Bagh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir on 23rd of this month for which leadership of all political parties has been invited.

Qamar Zaman Kaira said Pakistan has written letters to all G-20 countries conveying its reservations over the proposed G-20 meeting in Srinagar.

He said Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiri people's just struggle for right to self-determination which is their inalienable right.
