Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the railway sector aimed at enhancing regional connectivity.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi and Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Alisher Tukhtaev in Islamabad today.

The Minister described the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway Corridor as a landmark project that would play a pivotal role in promoting regional trade, economic integration and connectivity.

Alisher Tukhtaev expressed Uzbekistan’s keen interest in expanding cooperation with Pakistan in the railway sector and other areas of mutual interest.
