In Punjab, chip design centres are being established in the eight public-sector universities.
Talking to Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur Correspondent Sajjad Parvez, Vice Chancellor Islamia University, Bahawalpur Prof Dr. Athar Mahboob said with the establishment of these centers, Pakistan will gain a prominent position in this technology at the global level, especially in electronics.
He expressed the hope that with the help of these courses, the students will receive training in commercial-grade, Integrated Circuits and Design and their verification tools.
The Vice Chancellor said students will be fully prepared to work in the domestic and foreign Information Technology market.
