Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif distributed laptops among eligible students under the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme in Sialkot on Sunday.
Addressing the ceremony at Sialkot Women University, he said laptops have been distributed among students on merit.
The Prime Minister said one hundred thousand laptops will be distributed among students.
Shehbaz Sharif said providing relief to people is the first priority of government. He said all efforts are being made to provide maximum facilities to business community.
Prime Minister said merit is only policy that can bring out Pakistan from crises and enable it to face the challenges.
He said Pakistan cannot make progress without providing facilities to the students.
Prime Minister said the government has allocated five billion rupees for welfare of women. He urged women to come forward and participate in development of the country.
Earlier, addressing a laptop distribution ceremony at Sialkot Women University on Sunday, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said the Prime Minister played a vital role in steering the country out of prevailing crises. He said Shehbaz Sharif has taken several significant steps for promotion of higher education among the students.
