According to Hindustan Times, the US senators have introduced a bill proposing tariff of over one hundred percent on five countries, including India, that purchase Russian oil.

According to The Indian Express the proposed tariff on buyers of Russian oil have raised concerns that India's energy imports and its trade negotiations with the United States could be affected.
