Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak has said strengthening institutions and making them apolitical is top priority of the government.

Talking to Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel, he said government formulates policies, while the bureaucracy implements them in letter and spirit for country's bright future.

Criticizing previous governments, he said no step was taken for the development of the country, except getting meaningless advertisements published in the newspapers.

To a question, Pervaiz Khattak said religious seminaries' students are very talented and the government wants to mainstream them enabling them to serve the country in a better way.
