Pak-Afghan border at Torkham reopens after nine-day closure
September 16, 2023

The Pak-Afghan border at Torkham has been reopened for all kinds of traffic after its closure for nine days.

The border was opened after successful talks between Pakistani and Afghan authorities.

The nine-day closure of the border caused the lining up of thousands of goods-laden trucks on both sides, destroying perishable goods like fresh fruits, vegetables, poultry, meat and other items.

Meanwhile, businessmen from Pakistan and Afghanistan have welcomed the resumption of bilateral trade between the two brotherly neighbouring countries.

In a joint statement, the Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Director Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi and its Co-Chairman, Khan Jan Alkozai highly hailed the re-opening of trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
