Global companies evince interest in Pakistan's energy sector

Prominent global companies have evinced strong interest in investment in Pakistan's energy sector.

The interest was expressed during separate meetings of their representatives with Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik in Islamabad today.

The representatives of Vitol Tank Terminal International (VTTI) expressed interest in investing in energy storage, bonded warehousing and LPG storage terminals in Pakistan.

US Company Honeywell Universal Oil Products (UOP) showed interest in enhancing its investment footprint and providing advanced technology for refinery upgrades in Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister welcomed the expression of interest by the companies and said the government is taking all possible measures to provide clean and affordable energy to the people.

He said the government believes in a transparent and fair pricing system and is committed to enhancing domestic refining capacity and efficiency through refinery upgrades.
