International Day for Tolerance was observed on Thursday.

The aim of the Day was to educate people about need for tolerance in society and to help them understand the negative effects of intolerance.

Meanwhile, in a message on the occasion of International Day of Tolerance, caretaker Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Jamal Shah said that culture played a vital role in fostering tolerance within the society by influencing values, attitudes and behaviours. 

He said that the purpose of celebrating this day was to highlight the importance of societal norms based on the principles of harmony, tolerance and brotherhood.
