Pakistan re-elected to UNESCO Executive Board

Pakistan has been re-elected to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's Executive Board for next four years.

In a press release on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the re-election of Pakistan is a testament to its longstanding support and constructive role at the United Nations.

After its re-election to the Executive Board, Pakistan will continue to work with Member States to strengthen UNESCO's mandate.

It will advance shared goals, contribute to the policymaking, advancement of global priorities, and effective oversight of programmes and activities of the Organization.

Foreign Office Spokesperson said Pakistan will endeavor to strengthen collective efforts at UNESCO, by building bridges across regions and forging consensus on key issues for tangible outcomes and impact on ground.

She said Pakistan values the crucial role of UNESCO as a universal forum to promote the intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind and advancement of global peace and development through education, science, culture and communication.
