Pakistan has launched its first national carbon market policy to attract green investment.
The launch of Pakistan's Carbon market Policy and Panel on Coordinated Access to Net Zero Development Financing Through Paris-Aligned Carbon Markets was held at the Pakistan Pavilion on the sidelines of COP29 global climate conference in Baku on Saturday.
Addressing the event, Prime Minister's Coordinator on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam said Pakistan is fully committed to the development of this market for sustainable development. She said Pakistan is also ready to work together with partners and collaborators in jointly setting up carbon markets.
The ceremony was attended by members of international civil society organisations, delegation members of different countries, academia, researchers, policymakers and media.
