Shaza Fatima Khawaja said Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has engaged international consultants to conduct a comprehensive survey of Pakistan's current IT infrastructure and assess the country's readiness for 5G.
She said the government is working on a National Fiberization Policy, through which private sector investment will also be encouraged in telecommunication infrastructure.
She emphasized that fiberization is essential for the successful implementation of 5G technology.
The Minister of State expressed optimism that the government's measures would attract both domestic and international investors, ultimately enhancing Pakistan's telecom infrastructure and furthering the country's digital transformation goals.
