The women's summit at the provincial level was held at Sony Jawary Center in Gilgit.

Senior Minister for Women's Development and Social Welfare Col R Obaidullah Baig speaking on the occasion said that efforts are underway for empowerment of  in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The dream of development cannot be fulfilled in any society without women participation.  

Addressing on the occasiom , the country's representative of UN  Shermela , Rasool, said that the opinion of women is being given importance at the national level  and they are being made a part of consultation on various issues.
