PPP, ANP call for dialogue to overcome ongoing political crisis
April 17, 2023

Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarians and Awami National Party have emphasized the need for dialogue among political parties to tackle the ongoing constitutional and political crisis in the country.

Talking to newsmen in Islamabad on Monday alongside ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain, PPP leader Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani said as part of our ongoing effort for bringing all political leadership of the country at one table, we met the ANP leadership today.

He said we have started talks with our allied parties and gradually an environment for a broader national political dialogue will be created.

The PPP leader said this is the time for the entire political leadership of the country to sit for talks even if the talks fail, talk again and again so to rekindle hope among the people and revive their belief in democracy.

He said economic stability will remain an elusive dream unless there is political stability in the country.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani said politicians should make bridges not walls.  He said ANP is a party which has faced the havocs of terrorism but never closed the doors on negotiations.

Speaking on the occasion, ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain said dialogue is the only key to strengthen democracy.

He said an All Parties Conference is being convened in Islamabad on 3rd of next month in which all political parties, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have been invited.
