Responding to India's latest provocations, China has urged New Delhi to stick to the UN Security Council resolution and refrain from engaging in nuclear tests.

A spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry in Beijing said maintenance of peace, security and stability in South Asia is in the common interest of all parties, and China hopes all parties will make constructive efforts to this end.

He said the UN's resolution condemned India's nuclear tests in 1998 and demanded it to refrain from engaging in further tests, immediately stop its nuclear weapon development programs, ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons and any further production of fissile materials for nuclear weapons.

The Chinese response came after the Indian Express reported that India is set to conduct its first user trial of nuclear capable inter-continental-range ballistic missile Agni-V.

According to Global Times, the 5,000 kilometer range missile is likely to be tested on Thursday next, which is capable of hitting targets in all Asian countries and parts of Africa and Europe.
