United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi says the UN and international community continue to engage with Taliban to save Afghanistan from disaster and protect the region from instability.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday afternoon, he said humanitarian assistance should not be subjected to any political consideration.

He said collapse of public services like health and education can lead to chaos and mass exodus of people in search of safer places.

Filippo Grandi thanked Pakistan for facilitating humanitarian operations in Afghanistan.
