North Korea fired a ballistic missile from east coast city of Wonsan today (Thursday).
South Korea's military said the ballistic missile was launched this morning flying 240 km to an altitude of 47 km.
Earlier, North Korea had warned of "fiercer military responses" to U.S. efforts to boost its security presence in the region with its allies.
Meanwhile, China has called for addressing North Korea's legitimate concerns regarding US offer to extend deterrence to South Korea.
Speaking at a briefing in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said China has noticed DPRK's position on the US-Japan-South Korea joint statement of extending deterrence.
