Khalistan referendum held in New Zealand
November 17, 2024

Thousands of people exercised their right to vote in the referendum held in New Zealand today for the creation of an independent Sikh state within India to be known as Khalistan.

The referendum was held in Auckland, where a large number of people thronged to the venue to cast their votes, prompting the organizers to extend the voting time by one hour.

Over 37,000 people exercised their right to vote in the referendum.

Council General Sikh for Justice Gurpatwant Singh Pannun addressed the participants via video link. He said India responds with bullets to those who believe in voting.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said that despite India’s oppression, Sikhs chose the path of voting instead of violence.

The Council General of Sikhs for Justice further mentioned that the next phase of the referendum will be held on March 23 next year in Los Angeles.

He expressed confidence in the certainty of the freedom of Punjab from the clutches of Indian rulers.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun also chanted slogans of 'Delhi will become Khalistan'.
