Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain has directed for provision of fertilizer to farmers at fixed prices.

He was chairing a meeting in Islamabad today, to review the supply and demand situation of Urea fertilizer during Rabi season 2024-25.

The Minister said Urea demand is expected to increase by 16.4 percent in Rabi season.

He directed the officials concerned to take strict action against hoarding and illegal profiteering of fertilizer.

Rana Tanveer Hussain said fertilizer production units should be run at full capacity. 

The meeting deliberated upon different options and recommendations for import of fertilizer.
