Launching ceremony of book titled ‘22 Log’ held in Lahore

The launching ceremony of Radio Pakistan’s Controller News, Sajjad Parvez’s first Book titled “22 Log” was held at Governor House in Lahore.

Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman was chief guest of the ceremony while Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Prof Dr Ather Mahboob was guest of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman appreciated the endeavours of Sajjad Parvez with regard to the Book.

He said affection with book nourishes the thoughts of generations to come.

Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman said there is diversity in the selection of personalities of whom interviews were included in the book.

Expressing his views, senior journalist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami said the Book titled “22 Log” has become now part of our literature's history and it has gained the status of a text book for the student of journalism.

On his part, Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Prof Dr Ather Mahboob said that it is the matter of great honour for the university to published first coffee table book in Urdu in the history of Pakistani literature blended with historic and rare colour and black and white pictures which also given it as nostalgic book.

Renowned Novelist and TV writer Amna Mufti termed the book as a milestone regarding research.

Director Press Media and Publications Islamia University Bahawalpur Shahzad Ahmed Khalid said the unveiling of Sajjad Parvez' Book titled “22 Log” is great honour for the University' Alumni.

Columnist Naeem Masood said these 22 personalities whom interviews are in included in the book are our icons of the country.

Writer Farzana Aqib, speaking on the occasion said there is need to drag attention towards book reading. 

In his concluding remarks, writer of the book Radio Pakistan’s Controller News Sajjad Parvez expressed gratitude to all the speakers and all the participants for their valuable remarks and sentiments about the Book written by him.

He said Radio Pakistan gave him identity in the world of voice and this book became his source of identification in the field of literature.

The book consists of 22 exclusive and detailed interviews of renowned personalities belonging to different walks of life including Dr Asif Farukkhi, Dr Aqeel Abbas Jafri, Anwar Maqsood, Intizar Hussain, Fehmida Riaz, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Zahida Hina, Raza Ali Abidi, A Hameed, Shakil Adilzada, Abdullah Hussain, Prof Dr Ather Mahboob, Cartoonist MAXIM, Pathaney Khan, Zia Mohayeddin, Mussarat Kalanchvi and other personalities.
