Pakistan, Bangladesh direct victim of Indian terrorism: Analyst
January 18, 2025

  1. Maj. ® Zahid Mehmood:    It is great thing which is going to happen in the regional security spectrum. Both the Pakistan and Bangladesh are direct victims of Indian sponsored terrorism and proxies. After Hasina, Bangladesh is now able to have a free diplomacy towards Pakistan and other regional countries, as now Bangladesh has come out of Indian influence. But there are grave threats and both Pakistan and Bangladesh can be direct targets of Indian proxy and state sponsored terrorism. Indian state sponsored terrorism has spread over to the US and Canada. Pakistan needs to collaborate with China and Bangladesh at Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and other forums. Economic stability in the region. Human Development is very important for both the countries so they can bring stability in this sector by learning from each other’s expertise. We have to improve the quality of life of people living in Pakistan and Bangladesh through joint ventures. This opportunity was not there in the presence of Hasina Wajid in Bangladesh.

Dr Talat Shabir: It is important development that Pakistan and Bangladesh are getting closer in almost all sectors; it is an opportunity to have cordial diplomatic relations as well as enhanced trade and commerce cooperation between both countries in future. Bangladeshi Army Chief also visited Pakistan and his visit will cast far reaching impacts on bilateral ties. Defense relations between both countries can further be cemented by increased number of bilateral exchanges of security personnel, training and others.  People of both countries have warmth of hearts for each other. So Bangladeshi people are also showing due respect for Quaid I Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and other national heroes. In the past US and India had been major strategic partners of Bangladesh but now it is a positive change that Bangladesh has turned towards Pakistan and China. I think that India factor has been reduced in Bangladeshi diplomacy after the removal of Hasina regime.  There are a lot of areas for bilateral collaboration in trade and commerce sectors.
