Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says government took several steps to ensure freedom of expression, welfare of journalists and safety of media institutions.

In a statement, he congratulated newly-elected President of Multan Press Club Shakeel Anjum, Secretary General Nisar Awan, and other members of the body over their victory.

The Foreign Minister said the government passed Journalists Protection bill to provide conducive working environment to the media professionals.
