Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has commended Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for announcing a special package for wheat growers.
In a statement, he said the approval of fifteen billion rupees under the Wheat Support Fund for direct benefit of five hundred and fifty thousand farmers is a highly commendable step.
He said the exemption in Abiana and fixed tax for wheat farmers in Punjab is also a significant relief.
He noted that the provision of free storage facilities for four months will help protect wheat from weather effects and shield farmers from market pressure.
The Prime Minister assured that the Federal Government will fully support Punjab government in the export of wheat and wheat-based products.
Shehbaz Sharif said the prosperity of Pakistan is directly linked to the prosperity of its farmers.
He reiterated that it is the manifesto of PML-N to ensure that farmers are paid fairly for their hard work.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said timely initiatives taken by the Chief Minister of Punjab for the welfare of farmers will not only benefit the farmers but also prove to be beneficial for the economy.
