Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has expressed satisfaction over the improving economic condition of the country due to prudent policies of the government.
Presiding over a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet in Islamabad today, he termed attaining the record Current Account Surplus after ten-year as an important development.
The Minister also expressed satisfaction over the surge in foreign exchange reserves of the country, saying that the government will have three-month of import cover by the end of current fiscal year.
He informed that foreign remittances have witnessed a substantial increase of thirty-five percent and expressed the hope that remittances sent by the overseas Pakistanis will surpass thirty-five billion dollars mark during this year.
The Finance Minister said Roshan Digital Account has touched to nine billion dollars, recording 31 percent more flows while inflation rate has also declined to 4.9 percent.
