The United States and South Korea have urged North Korea to return to talks.

The US special envoy for North Korea, Sung Kim held talks with South Korean counterpart in Seoul.

Talking to reporters, the U.S. special envoy said that Washington and Seoul agreed on the need for a strong response to North Korea's recent spate of missile tests, though they remain open to dialogue with the country.
