In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu Kashmir Peoples League has said that so-called Indian elections are no substitute for Kashmiris' right to self-determination. The JKPL General Secretary Dr Musaib in a statement in Srinagar said that Kashmiri people want a permanent solution of the Kashmir dispute to ensure peace in the region. He said that there was no let up in atrocities against Kashmiri people by Indian forces but they would continue their struggle till complete success.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has paid glowing tributes to prominent martyred Kashmiri leaders Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone on the eve of their martyrdom anniversaries to be observed on Tuesday.

APHC spokesperson, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement in Srinagar has reiterated that despite killings, imprisonment and suppression, the Kashmiris are strongly committed to their right to self-determination as acknowledged by the UN Security Council resolutions.

A report released by Kashmir Media Service has lamented the victimization of Kashmiri people for their political ideology. The report condemned the Modi regime's actions as cruel.

In an other report by Renowned English-language news channel, Al Jazeera, on Indian parliamentary elections in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has stated that the Kashmiri people, under a changed policy, participated in the election to express their deep-seated anger towards the India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

The report mentioned that the participation is not an endorsement of India's policies but rather a reflection of a dramatically changed political landscape as traditionally pro-India parties have now become vocal critics of the Indian government after the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status by the Modi government in August 2019.
