Prime Minister Imran Khan has felicitated the newly elected President of Iran.

In a tweet on Saturday, he said congratulations to brother Ebrahim Raisi  on his landmark victory in Iran's 13th Presidential elections.

He said we look forward to working with him for further strengthening our fraternal ties and for regional peace, progress and prosperity.

Ebrahim Raisi has been elected president of Iran with 61.95 percent of the vote.

Voter turnout was 48.8 percent of the more than 59 million eligible voters in election held on Friday.
